2008 October > Georgetown Dancer Beats Odds

Local dancer Emma Smith (a 10 year old Grade 5 student at St. Catherine of Alexandria School) successfully auditioned at the National Ballet School of Canada for a spot in the 4 week summer school program. After a her month long audition in July Emma was accepted into Canada's National Ballet School on a full-time basis in their Professional Ballet Program. She begins her full time academic and ballet training with NBS on September 3rd. Emma was dance student of Kelly Paddle and Claudia Lopez-Caicedo here in Georgetown at Center Stage School of the Arts and credits them for her success.
