2008 October > Acton Fall Fair

The Acton Agricultural Society continued it's reputation as "the best little fair in Ontario" as beautiful weather and a full schedule of entertainment and midway rides kept the crowds coming to a jam packed Prospect Part. Hard working community booster and retiring Miss Acton Emily Stirtzinger passed on her crown to the 45th Miss Acton Justine Martin. The Homecraft section of the Agricultural Society celebrated it's 50th anniversary and past and present Presidents from Erma McEnery to Kathryn Lynch were presented plaques to acknowledge their dedication and service. Just under 1,000 children participated in Education Day during the first day of the Fair. Crowds also lined the streets of downtown Acton to watch Saturday's Fall Fair Parade. The agricultural exhibits and horse and cattle competitions were well attended along with the truck, tractor, and horse pulls called by Mary Walsma.
